WebLayers and Project Realms Expand Governance Solution for Health Insurance Industry Leader
CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - October 18, 2011)

WebLayers and Project Realms today announced one of its largest combined governance offerings for a Fortune 100 company to develop and deliver enterprise-level automated governance in the health insurance industry.

The deployment includes WebLayers zCenter, an automated governance solution built to help organizations solve critical business problems through the development of better software and applications. WebLayers software can also help reduce CPU consumption by defining, measuring and auditing mainframe policies and best practices across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and improving code quality through governance.

The solution, developed in conjunction with Minnesota-based consulting firm Project Realms, Inc. will play a critical role in helping the organization overcome the many challenges associated with extending and protecting mainframe assets, while ensuring conformance to best practices and policies.

"Our combined services are of particular importance for health insurance providers," says Jay Philips, President of Project Realms. "Our efforts will provide this organization with even greater insight into the effectiveness of critical software development activities."

The combined efforts will see integration between WebLayers' ability to govern software development activities against centralized policies and Project Realms' aggregated software quality reporting functionality. These benefits carry over into combined dashboard reporting that will allow for a more detailed analysis of software artifacts, including both developer- and executive-level reporting on policy violations, bug tracking metrics and adherence to standards and best practices.

The benefits include fast delivery on ROI by identifying software development issues earlier in the lifecycle and eliminating costly rework. Additionally, the included quality assurance and process improvement dashboards further enhance visibility into software development initiatives.

"This collaborative deployment proves again the value of our joint solutions for large organizations," says Jeff Papows, President and CEO of WebLayers. "The health insurance industry involves many unique challenges, and we're confident that we will be able to help address these challenges while making the business more efficient."
